You can't call it MARYland and treat gays like this!
The phones have been ringing about the situation in Maryland. As we know, the governor, with the stroke of a pen decided that gays should not have a way to tell the state "this is who I want to visit me in the hospital."
This, readers is a nation out of control.
This readers is absolutists who have gone beserk with power. How dare these people tell anyone who should be able to visit them in their greatest moments of need! This has to stop. NOW!

--- I want to know who ran on "family values" and then cheats on their wives (and husbands) when they are in session in Annapolis,

TAKE ACTION: WRITE THIS GAY MAN OR CALL HIM NOW -- TELL HIM TO STOP SUPPORTING THE DESTRUCTION OF OUR RIGHTS
Who knew that letting gay and lesbian partners visit each other in the hospital would incur the veto pen of a self-described moderate, the Governor of Maryland, Bob Ehrlich?
Now, you'll hear some bull about how bad the bill was that got it to his desk...You'll hear some garbage about how he will introduce a bill next year.... Funny how that happens when reporters start asking "Who are the closet cases down there in Annapolis assisting this?"
Well you know what?....If Bob Ehrlich had a plan to make this happen, then why didn't he send his gay chief of staff over to the Capitol to say, "We have no problem allowing gay couples to visit each other in the hospital and this is how we would be comfortable doing it?"
But, Nooooooooooooooo..... These men sat silently as the bill moved through the system.....and then they had the audacity to try to spin this in some crazy Foxnews-lLike line about how the governor was doing this because he really thinks gay people can be treated better. Well, Bob Ehrlich...you were elected to LEAD. Why don't you try it some time? These elected officials are so busy FOLLOWING like lap dogs to the radical right that they never pay attention to LEADING.
Now, as far as Mr. Ehrlich's Chief of Staff goes...please pick up the phone and call Steve Kreseski today. Tell him how you feel about him as a gay man working for a man that would deny the rights of gay men and lesbians to visit each other in the hospital. Ask them what they mean by "family values" and "government out of personal lives?" Ask how this is "moderate?"
Over the next days, I will be out and about meeting with my inside leakers in Ehrlich's administration. From that point I'll be sure to give you lists of these people and ways to contact them. These are our enemies from within the Ehrlich Administration. Call this man's office and ask him to resign in disgust over the governor's veto. Or email him directly! His email is on a public website...I love that!

How you can look in the mirror and be proud to serve a man that has worked so hard against your own community is beyond me. You should resign your post immediately and on behalf of every gay man and lesbian in the state!

Remember "activist judges"? You ain't seen nothing yet.
They tell me, "Mike, you've got to stop calling them pigs." Well, what are you supposed to call a group that gets 206 of 216 judicial nominations passed and then whines about how upset they are? Are you supposed to call them 'sloths,' 'vipers,' greedy bastards?' Frankly, 'pigs' is rather generous.
The right wing manipulators call judges "activists," because these liars know that by upending the truth, they can attempt to rewrite it in their own vision. If you're jotting down the USA's own 'Nuremberg timeline,' this filibuster vote will definitely make the cut. Picture it...The lone member of the United States House to vote AGAINST a resolution calling for the freeing of Nelson Mandela will preside over a vote of one of the nation's most divided senior legislatures in history. All the while, that man's lesbian daughter remains stashed on the sidelines writing her 'memoir' of what it's like to be the hated daughter of the Veep.
They may win the vote next week, they may not... Whatever happens, when the historians look back at these greedy people in 200 years it will be their actions, not their false statements put out by whores who sleep their way into the White House, that people will recall.

What a nice Monday!
There's not a whole hell of a lot of great weather in DC....But days like today are just awesome...I've been spending the weekend working on the initial stages of a site redesign...As one of the most frequently visited take action sites on the web, I've been listing a ton of suggestions that I've received. Look for a site that is much easier to navigate and one that will make it much simpler to understand blogACTIVE's work...
Also, to those of you who have been generous enough to support this work, I am working on ways to improve everything from acknowledging support to providing special parts of the site for those of you who have stood with me.

Well, I must be doing something right...

For those of you who were duped by Wizbang, don't feel bad. I met their editor, Kevin Aylward, at the Politics and Internet Conference. Kevin and I chatted and I had left the conference thinking, "Wow, here is a guy that wants to slice through the rhetoric and get to the issues."

Who said this?!?
Here's one for the "history" books -- more more like the "his story," From Rush and Molloy at the NY Daily News.
Is this guy for real? Forget about the other quotes where Gannon alleges that he is being courted by gay activists?! Ewwwwwwwww. This quote, and the rest of it is Gannon's regular recipe: One part plausibile deniability, one part fake indignation, and one part false threat claims.The born-again Gannon refused to talk about his sexuality with reporters David Margolick and Richard Gooding but says, "Did I know sin before I knew salvation? You bet! But my life was heading in the right direction. What's interesting about this is now I'm being punished for things I left behind.

The thing about the right wing nut jobs is that they have very little computer savvy...You'd think someone smart enough to rip the federal government off for $400 million to teach kids to "just say noooooo....when they want to say "yes, Yes, YES!" would also be smart enough to land the name of the domain of the program.
