Mike Lux meets Rick Santorum

This is pretty funny. OpenLeft's Mike Lux took a train ride the other day...
After a while I got up to go get something from the café cart, and it turns out the guy sitting behind me was Rick Santorum, which makes it all the more fun and all the more interesting. So pretty much the whole trip this guy is working his cell phone, talking to people about how anyone is better than...
Poor Ricky, so irrelevant.

My unplanned sabbatical...

Sometimes you wake up and just don't want to go to work. You're not quite sure what's wrong so you call in sick. Sick of Work. Amid the trips, developing the new site over at PageOneQ and an extraordinary amount of work related to some projects I am working on, I took an unplanned sabbatical.

That's going to change Monday. Over the weekend, I'll be writing an update of what's been going on, and what the next 9 months will look like on BlogActive.

Lots of changes. Lots of news. It's election time again folks... And, as frustrating as it is to have the media focus on my work during election time, we're going to use that to our fullest advantage.

For those of you who wrote letters of support and concern during my little unannounced hiatus, thanks!

See you over the weekend.

Oh, the places I've been

Been a while since I posted... part of the problem is that I can't tell folks here when I'm leaving town beforehand... I'll be writing up some of the basic details of what I've been up to over the next few days... Oh... the places I've been... the places I'm going... It's going to be a busy year.

Poor Idaho

It seems that every time Idaho gets in the national news, it's either over dick or pussy:

Raw Story: Cat Seeking Warm Spot Blamed for Outage Cutting Electricity to 12,000 Customers in Idaho:
A cat picked the wrong place to come in from the cold, and caused a power outage that blacked out more than 12,000 homes and businesses.

The cat entered an electrical substation, snuggled up to a warm transformer and contacted a live circuit, causing a short that blew out nine feeder lines Monday afternoon, Idaho Power officials said.

Service was restored in less than three hours to most customers, including City Hall where the lights came on in time for a City Council meeting, utility spokesman Dennis Lopez said.

The outage also disabled traffic lights in the city of about 77,000 people. Temporary stop signs were set up at affected intersections and about 15 police officers were assigned to direct and monitor traffic. Police Lt. Eric Skoglund said he didn't know of any accidents that could be blamed on the outage.

The short circuit killed the cat.
This PETA member wishes the poor kitty was the lead.

The founders got it right

Some Americans get it that religion has no place in politics.

As I tell my friends, the "people" who write "the rules" don't want you talking about politics and religion because they maintain power based on the ignorance of people on matters concerning politics and religion.

Fuck the establishment. Talk about religion. Talk about politics. I had quite the smile on my face as I walked away from a woman (had to be about 80) who had a pin on that said "Vote Family Values, Vote GOP. "So tell me," I asked her, "Do you support the same kind of family values as David Vitter or poor Larry Craig who was looking for dick on the floor of an airport bathroom?

"Family values?" I asked her, "Please tell me you're kidding."
