(Wednesday 11/24, UPDATE: I’m learning a lot about the news and how it works as a result of the blog. “Release the Mehlman info on the Wednesday before Thanksgiving? Are you nuts?!” Said one of my friends in the media. Sooooo…I’ve decided to use the holiday weekend to catch up on old work and to make some changes to the site. I will be posting over the weekend, look for a story on Monday.

I will also endeavor to post more frequently about stories and actions relating to the hysterical level of homophobia in the country. As many of you know this is practically a one person operation…As the holiday arrives, I am thankful for all of your support.)

I’ve been finishing up on my Ken Mehlman article. While it will not contain the “smoking gun” some are hoping for, I think it’s quite interesting that Chris Crain, editor of the Washington Blade, chose only some of the facts to report in his item in Friday’s Blade.

Over at NY Press, Michelangelo Signorile has a great article about Ken Mehlman and his new job over at the RNC. Mike writes about Mehlman and recently exposed RNC Family Values Operative Dan Gurley. You can read the entire article by clicking here.

Here are a few highlights:

Surely Mehlman can’t complain now that people are talking about his marital status and how he lives—right? Last week, the blogs were abuzz with stories about Mehlman, who refused to tell the Washington Blade when asked several weeks ago if he or others who worked in prominent positions in the campaign are gay.

Both Blogactive.com and Rawstory.com ran stories claiming that Gurley, whom both sites said oversaw antigay mailings that went out from the RNC, was seeking…sex online with other men. Both sites have a track record on outing, and have made an impact in recent months outing closeted members of Congress and RNC staff.
